Chase Field is the Major League Baseball home of the Arizona Diamondbacks at 401 E Jefferson St, Phoenix, AZ 85004. The bag policy at Chase Field is that you can no longer bring backpacks into the stadium for a game. However, clear bags, one-gallon clear plastic bags, that don’t exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″ are acceptable. Also, small clutch purses that don’t exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″ or also fine to bring into Chase Field.
Here is the complete Chase Field bag policy and more for your next event. I also share my bag recommendation on what to bring to the game. Finally, there is an affiliate link to Amazon on this page.
Here are some approved bags to bring into the MLB ballpark that comply with Chase Field’s bag policy.
I try and only bring my clear fanny pack that is 11″ x 6.5″ x 5.9″ into venues. I use the clear fanny pack because it is smaller than the recommended size, so there won’t be any issues. Also, it is a clear bag, so it fits with the clear bag policy. Finally, I’ve never had this type of bag rejected at the gate via the bag check, so it is my go-to bag anytime I need to bring it with me to a stadium. Plus, the bag itself is not bulky, so it is not annoying to walk around with it at venues.
Below is my video on why I use a clear fanny pack at games
Fans entering Chase Field for a baseball game will undergo a metal detector screening. Fans who have a bag with them will need to have that go through a separate screening process. During the screening process, the security team will review the inside of the bag, ensure that it complies with the clear bag policy, and more. If the bag or the items inside the bag can’t enter the stadium, the fan must surrender them at the gate or find another place to leave them before entering the arena.
Chase Field has an extensive list of items you can’t bring into the stadium for a game. Below are some of the most common things that can’t enter the stadium. However, it is best to visit the official prohibited items section for the team to ensure the rules stay the same before your next visit.
If your bag fails to pass the clear bag policy, the D-backs have lockers at the venue through a partnership with Binbox for fans to use. Fans will need to download the Binbox app to gain access to this locker to store their bags.
If the lockers are sold out, fans can leave their bags or prohibited items that can’t enter the stadium in the car.
Finally, if you can’t get a locker at the stadium and don’t have a vehicle to leave your stuff in, you can try and see if a hotel nearby will hold onto your items. Most hotels will have storage rooms for a small fee to store your things while you are at a game. However, hotels tend only to honor these requests if space is available at their facility.
